Sage ACT 2010-2011 Tutorial – Importing data from Outlook

Sage ACT 2010 / 2011 Training Tutorials – The most fantastic ACT resource on the web – Step By Step Tutorials, videos, audios, advice and a whole host of value – www.act-2010.co.uk

==============================================================================

This brief tutorial provides a step by step process that will enable you to import data into your ACT database directly from Outlook

And yes you are right, it was recorded using ACT 2009 however the procedure is exactly the same in ACT 2010

What’s more, it was taken from a much more comprehensive video (from within my paid ACT Accelerator membership program) that provides details on how to also import data from Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel

For further enhancements and additional import functionality, I would suggest you consider ACT 2011 as one of the nice new features, is the ability to specify a typical import template

More on this shortly but until then,

Enjoy and talk to you soon

I recently ran a workshop here in the UK for nearly 250 businesses using ACT and the whole experience was a real eye opener and just re-iterated the fact that ACT is almost worthless, without proper education

The event was started by me asking the audience some questions and then subsequently followed by me showing them the answers to their questions via live demonstrations

Now what amazed me was the fact that every question, with the exception of 2, all related to the most basic of ACT’s massive feature set.

Quite frankly, aspects of the software I assumed everybody was familiar with

So what I intended was going to be a high level workshop, quickly materialsied into nothing more than a basic refresher

Now with this in mind, I want to share with you a question that was asked because it may be, that you’re not familiar it either

Be sure to watch the tutorial right to the end because I finish by showing you a truly fantastic tip

Following a spate of recent emails relating to problems users are experiencing with mail merging to word processors constantly crashing, it seems like there’s a very simple solution to the issue but as with most things in life, there’s a right way to do things and a wrong way

Now whether these influx of emails relating to this problem are due to the state of the current economy and more and more of you are having to try and generate extra revenue for your business through mail merge campaigns, I don’t really know

What I do know, is that this video will show the wrong way to embed images into your document templates (which I assume the majority of you are are doing and will almost certainly be the reason you are experiencing system crashes) but as with all my teachings, it will also provide you with the correct steps you must take in order to create the correct size template with embedded pictures and ultimately, a trouble free mail merge

To view the cut down version and to establish the wrong way to do things, visit my youtube video at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAJDQ90RPaE

To gain access to the entire video, you’ll need to pre-register to my highly acclaimed, brand new membership program titled “The ACT Accelerator” or AA for short and no, this has nothing to do with me having a drink problem!!!

So to register your interest (absolutely no commitment at this stage) and to qualify for my very special early bird discount, head over to www.act-2010.co.uk/theaa and enter your details

More details to follow in the next 3 weeks but for now, what exactly is this new program all about?

Well, it’s a fully structured training program that does exactly what it says on the tin.  It will sky rocket your ACT knowledge and allow you to achieve some truly amazing results and genuinely enhance your overall ACT experience

And how do I know?

Beacause the initial feedback I’ve had regarding this amazing new service has been unbelievable and as soon as it launches, which will be 1st September 2010, I just know the demand is going to be substantial to say the least

If you haven’t already signed up to my free videos, be sure to visit www.act-2010.co.uk

Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you on the inside and providing you with truly amazing and unique training material relating to ACT 2010 and the brand new ACT 2011

ACT 2010 Tutorial Training – Customising Toolbars in ACT 2010

ACT By Sage 2010 Training Tutorials – The most fantastic ACT resource on the web – Step By Step Tutorials, videos, audios, advice and a whole host of value – http://www.act-2010.co.uk

==========================================================================

I’ve just finished a hugely successful 2 day workshop here in Southampton, UK and it’s quite scary how naive most ACT users are in respect of basic customisation.  ACT is so flexible and yet so few ever go beyond the default settings

Well today I want to give you a quick insight into how you can modify your toolbars, both using basic techniques and also using slightly more advanced custom commands to link to external files

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtSlNJirl44

The video is only about 10 minutes long but nonetheless, should give you another indication as to what you can do with ACT to really make it work for you

Enjoy!

ACT 2010 Training Tutorial – Tidy up your data for better results

In the past, I was often exposed to the most ridiculous comments from naive users suggesting ACT 2010 wasn’t very good at filtering records (well words to that effect!!!)

Well I’ve never heard so much rubbish in all my life because typically, it’s the program at all.  In most cases, it’s the data contained within it

If you can relate to this, you must watch my next video

ACT 2010 Training Tutorial – Tidy up your data

Enjoy!
